While in Dunhome...
  • RhynnRhynn March 2011

For some reason, Casaire originally thought we were on a tight time table to leave Dunhome and was rushing to get his training accomplished.  Realizing that we would be here for a considerable period of time, Casaire goes back to pursue existing or new interests.  After martial training is done, I will:

    • Go to the temple and learn the Healing skill.  This is a primary objective.  Casaire is often one of the people left standing after a fight, and feels of little use after swinging his hammer.  Learning how to bandage people will allow him to either bandage additional party members or help those who are more skilled.
    • Go back to the blacksmith in the North in and ask for one more chance.  Explain that he felt under pressure to perform, and realize that I need to slow down to take his time.  With this, I would be "taking 20" on the check.
    • I want to go back to the inn where I damaged the pots.  I will bring my own skillet (I had it made) and ask for another chance.  Considering I will bring all my own tools and ingredients, hopefully she will allow me one more chance.  Even if I have to cook over a campfire behind the building, I want to make this happen.  Casaire hates having failed this, and hates having humiliated himself.  As before, I will be "taking 20" for this.

Garion would like to do the following:

    • Find a better suit of Leather Armor.  The leather that I was issued in Ironfang was suitable for the time, but I would like to find some that is better suited for my stature.
    • Continue to make arrows, and work on making bows.  Even the arrows are not for myself, I can help others (Zarth and Rick's Character) replinish their quivers.
    • Scout out some other parts of the area for any good timber.  I am not used to staying in one spot for very long, and since we saw several prime spots on the way south from the monastery, I would like to let the timber company know their locations.
    • Check the surrounding areas for any Orc signs, especially on the Mud Plains.  There were far too many Orc sign on the way south of the monastery.  Also there were several organized bands of Orcs operating openly in the region.  What is up with that??
    • Get with Aiden to see if there is a cartographer in town so we can try and create a map back to the big Bowl statue that we stay near for a couple of days.  Since we found that doorway inside, maybe we could explore that at a later time.

I am not thinking the party(if yall become one) will be here for a LONG time, just enough to get trained then set back out.(I know people need to check back in, others do not want to, others have issues that need to be looked into, all of this could be done with..... A PARTY)

Ok Rhynn, you can go to the temple and ask for training.  They say it will take 1-2 weeks and a generous donation to the cause.  Depends on how much time you will give per day.(you still have weapons training daily and NO-ONE wants to mess up there or you get sent off for some odd job that may or may not improve your skills.  think balance or helping them move rocks/timber)

The top blacksmith is in the EAST and is currently not accepting a part time apprentice as he has one currently.

The Inn is in the South(waiting area) of the complex.  Depending on your time available you could get back into the kitchens with some talking and have them let you try to cook something again.(pray no more 1's)

ok Turgon, you can go get fitted for a new set of armor courtesy of DunHome Ranger Corps.  You can also spend time filling up yours, Jeff's and Rick's quivers to full(20 arrows).

If you take a quick view outside(a "quick" circuit around DunHome with a radius of about 1/2 travel) you do not see many signs of Orcs.  Most of what you saw earlier was on the WEST edge of the plains(Mud Plains) which is a week+ away and might not be safe based on how wet the plains were.(even dumb critters can track you if you are leaving big foot prints)

You can get a cartographer to make a basic map(sort of a treasure type map) back to the ballpark area of the statue/hands holding the bowl.

I was only wanting to start the Healing training after I was done with the weapons training.  I figured if we were hanging around for a while, another week or two would fit in.

Ok, if you get the training done before you leave you can put in 2 pts(if you have 2 pts).  If not, then only 1 point for limited training.
