The party is able to rest in the stone enclave and heal. You go through two sets of sleeping and casting. Everyone feels about 90% and Josy has full spells for the journey into the tower...
The jagged stub of a large tower stands up from the razed walls. Two small black birds are perched on the tower top, about 25 feet up... One heavy door can be seen, barred and chained shut from the outside. Arrow slits are visible on either side of the door, but peering in reveals only blackness beyond.
(The image is to scale.)

You do not detect any magic or traps on the door. You are able to easily pick the lock. The chains fall away, and all that is left is the bar. Who is opening the door?
Barakas stands in the corner with this back to the door post. Josy stand at the back with bow drawn and arrow knocked. Ria kneels in front of her, allowing a clean shot. Ike stands ready with his crossbow and spell at his lips. Barakas holds his right arm against the door, and his left shield arm up for defense. Barakas pushes the door open - it swings easily. As soon as the door opens you are assailed with a dozen or more range weapons - arrows, bolts and javelins. Two crossbow bolts hit, one on Josy and one on Barakas. They each do 3pts of damage.
The interior is pitch black. Those with dark vision will be able to see 60 feet in, however you are currently standing in the sun and need to get inside for your eyes to adjust. (If you stare hard at the map, you just might be able to make out a few interior features.)

After a very tough battle, the party finally proved victorious. Barakas charged in and began attempting to break through the shield wall blocking the passage into the tower. Ria came into her right and traded blows with the crossbowmen and archers - their projectiles versus her magic (Burning Hands). After several exchanges she was able to defeat the men on the right side.
During the entire combat Josy used a combination of magic to thawrt their enemies (including some well placed sleep spells) and support the party (healing surge). Ike used his crossbow to pick off two archers perched up on the stairs toward the north side of the temple.
Barakas was finally able to beat down the first two members of the shield wall (tower shields are a bitch), only to have those two replaced with members from the secondary line. Taking these down a bit easier, due to the lack of shields. During this time Barakas took a few pokes from spears, javelins and swords. Though a few wounds were serious, most were simply a bother, though each hit does count.
Prior to the second "perched" archer being dropped, he made a major hit on Barakas, passing an arrow clean through his shoulder and hitting a major artery. Luckily continued positive energy surges from Josy were able to stem the blood loss and heal.
Ria crossed the entry way and continued a similar set of exchanges with the archers and crossbowmen on the left. Finally dropping them (and runnign low on magic), she hopped the low wall and began to engage in melee combat. Two more experienced warriors stepped up and engaged Ria. She killed the lesser of the two easily, but the second scored a critical hit with a morningstar. This combined with many arrow and bolt wounds dropped her to the ground.
Barakas continued to break the line of melee combatants, and the tide looked to be turning in the party's favor. The leader yelled a command, and Barakas was bullrushed by one of the shield bearers, back into the entry way. At this time, the enemy leader triggered a trap that dropped a trap of stone rubble from the ceiling onto Barakas and Josy who were in the entry way. Both were able to dive aside and avoid most of the damage. The leader used this diversion to escape from the battlefield and ran into a back room.
The enemies left took this opportunity to rush in and re-engage the disortiented pair. Josy was able to send out more healing waves, keeping Barakas from touching death's door. His healing was also able to revive Ria, who later came around the low wall and flanked the remaining melee combatants. Ike took up perch on the rubble and continued to use is crossbow and magic to great effect.
Once the dust finally settled (literally and figuratively), the party had won the day - just barely. The party is now quite wounded, with most resources spent. This is what you can now see in the interior of the tower. There are two tables, four support poles, stairs that wind around the outside edge of the tower (the top is blocked from the cave in), and two doors to interior rooms. The tower is three stories tall, but the top two levels are caved in and inaccessible.

The party rests during the evening without incident. Upon waking Josy is able to use her ability to channel positive energy to heal the party. After six rounds of this healing, everyone gets back 22 hit points.
In the northern room (#2) you find a number of beds, stools, a chest of drawers and a padlocked chest. Ike is able to easily pick the lock on the chest. Inside is a postion, and a sack. The sack is filled with electrum and a jeweled dagger. There are also four bolts of silk in the bottom of the chest. On top of the chest of drawers is a lamp.
The room to the north east is locked from the inside, and while Ike picks that lock as well the door appears to be barred from the inside.
